My mom won't buy me a new phone even though im an A-B student. Im in clubs and other extracurricular activities. Every time i ask her she just ignores me or shrugs it off. The thing is she will promise to get me a new phone like next month and never do it. I asked for one on my birthday and all i got was a 4 dollar bag of takis(my favorite chips). I asked for one on Eid and she said yes but she never bought it. Im honestly just tired of her lying to me everytime she says she will buy my one. I actually used to have an iphone 8 hand me down from 2 people, so already not the best condition, but thats not the point. She broke it because she got angry at me because we were arguing. Its about a year later now, and i get teased a lot for not having a phone. Matter of fact, today we had a fundraiser for our orchestra, and i was the only one without a phone, so not only was it really embarrassing to get called out for not having a phone by the visitor, but i also had no numbers so i can get donation. I also can't call my mom to tell her if my club meeting is cancelled so i have to wait to use the office phone and its really embarrassing talking on it in front of everyone. I also don't really have many friends outside of school, because i don't have their numbers. I think shes worried ill be on it too much, especially if i steal it, but as they say, strict parents raise sneaky kids.
