What is real? What can we count on to be true?

Of course we can tell that an apple falls so something is pulling us down to the earth (gravity)

And of course we can tell that water is liquid and we can move through it and concrete is solid and it doesnt move when we hit it

But what can we know to be true, what do we just think is true but actually isnt what if gravity is something pushing us away instead of pulling us in, we have no way to prove that to be one way or the other. We just assume that it is pulling us in!

What about liquid and solids, now of course we can go through water, and not through concrete, but when you go at high speeds and you hit water it is solid (or at least more solid) and when we hit cement at slow speeds it acts like liquid solid... Yeaaahhhhh that didnt work out quite how id hoped... But still

Anyway what can we count on to be true?

I didn't know what to think. My stomach cramped and twisted inside of me. A few seconds later Natali's eyes drifted toward the zig-zagging shape, her face growing pale with uncertainty.

"Lia! Paddle; fast!" she called, already ziplining towards the shore. Without me. I stared back at her, and then I sunk underwater, having almost being drowned by a humungo-wave, then the shark dove under, noticing that my head was bleeding. Or so I thought..I blacked out shortly afterward but the main thing that I remember was being on top of the shark's back, torpedoing towards the seashore, my board clutching my ankle tightly. Natali saw me unconcious in a tidepool, and as I awoke, I saw the shark slowly swimming deeper and further away from us. I got up searching for it but then fell back down into the sands, which were being moved by the tides. Natali clung to my arm. "Blood," she said. "What?!" I asked, shocked. "You're bleeding. Did the shark hurt you?" I shook my head. "No; it helped me. It drove me u ptocthe shore. I cut myself on the reef, and I rode it back to shore..." I replied, staring back into the ocean. "That's ridiculous. I think you're hallucinating, Lia." said Natali, logically. "Yeah, Natali. Say what you want. But I know, what I saw. Because last time I checked, I was the one out there, while my best friend raced upto shore without me," She frowned. I detached my board strap from my ankle and ran up to my house, my surfboard held tightly under my arm. "Lia!" Natali called, but she was no match for my speed. The sun set easily across the horizon, and the first thing that I did when I got home was research more on sharks. I want to know what really happened out there....

Chapter three: ER Hatred

I'm sitting in the ER waiting room with a hurting arm that's holding up an ice pack on my forehead. It reeks in here. And that obnoxious beeping machine that goes off every five seconds is about to make ME go off. "Bri, we know you're ticked off about this room, and we're sorry, but we have to wait here until we have further news on Rowan," said Cory. I groaned. "How hard IS IT just to let people in a room?" I ask impatiently. Suddenly, as if my words were miracles in verbal form, a nurse walked up and told us that we could come inside. As we walked, I asked, "So how did she end up here?" Cory then explained that the 'sink' I puked into was actually her shoes. And then she tried to back away and ended up slipping in it. Yick! We finally reached the room, and I saw Rowan, with breathing tubes up her nostrils, and a thingy on her finger. And of course, that pale look on her face and that stupid beepy thing. The nurse who's name tag said, 'Vanessa' walked up to us as we entered. Mr. Savage and his wife and son were standing in the room next to her bed. "Well, Little Miss Rowan has taken quite a tumble," said Vanessa. "She had a concussion. And she sprained her ankle. She'll be walking on crutches for awhile and needs to stay in bed rest for a bit but other than that, she should be just fine." She exited. "Great," I whimpered. "This is all my fault," Ranger Rick frowned at me. "No it's not, Bri. Things happen sometimes." "YES IT IS BUCKY MCBOING-BOING IT IS. IT IS ALL MY FAULT AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!" I shouted at him. Silence hung above the room. A tear struck down my face as I glanced at Rowan, then Peyton. Another embarrassing moment...
