IM GOING TO AUDITION FOR PROFESSIONAL THEATRE ON AUGUST 12TH AHHHH

The play is A Christmas Carol, and I need a headshot and short resume, and I need to prepare a monologue that is a minute or shorter and a part a Christmas song or carol. I’m so excited! I’m getting a book of monologues so I can pick one, and I need to watch A Christmas Carol again. I am going to sing the chorus for It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Also, if I get a part, I get paid $150! I’m so excited! I hope I get a part! I would be happy with any part, but I hope I get at least a side/supporting role!

Some random things about auditioning for theatre bc im bored:

Always bring some kind of resume. It can be a little piece of paper is ur theatre expirence or a few papers. Just always keep it kinda short.
You don't always need a headshot, but it's good to have one.
REHEARSE REHEARSE REHEARSE!! Always rehearse at least 5 days in advance.
Make a good impression when coming in. Don't come in too small or too confident.
Go over your song/monolouge/dance routine a few times in a bathroom or not crowded place.
Make friends! It's always good to have some friends on the potential cast.
Go out there and audition your heart out!

I hope this made you have a better audition!

SOME QUICK UPDATES

101 Dalmatians rehearsal is so fun! I love to watch Cruella and her henchman rehearse. Its so funny!
So I kinda got scammed on Amazon so I gotta buy another costume from someone else. (im probably gonna be Peggy Schkyker, one of Eliza's sisters.)
I recently started dance up again! Im only doing Hip Hop this year even tho I usually do Ballet and Hip Hop. (my mom didn't wanna pay for school theatre club, 101 Dalmatians, AND two dance classes.)

Im kinda bored so imma go look up some open kid auditions coming soon even tho ik my moms gonna say no.

ADVICE FOR THEATRE AUDITION BC IM PANICING

Dear Theater Kids of KT,

So y'all know the 101 Dalmatians audition that I have on Wednesday. I've talked abt it at least a zillion times. Im not panicking abt the audition itself, im panicking abt my VOICE. So I can sing pretty good on certain songs such as A Million Dreams or Popular. But I just watched 101 Dalmatians for the first time and uhm there's one itsy problem THEY SING ONE SONG THATS LIKE 30 SECONDS LONG so ik the ppl in C.A.S.T (the theatre program) will add more songs bc yk its a musical and its not a musical with only one song sooo... idk if my tiny vocal range will be able to sing the songs that they add in....and ik my mom won't get me a vocal teacher so dnt recommend that.

Hey guys! Im in such a relief that I could sing the entire Six musical playlist in one try! (I've done it before, it was scary) Maybe I should tell y'all why im in such a relief. SOOOOO I just found out that I DNT NEED TO PREPARE for the audition! They do a quick test on ur vocal cords and im guessing like a scripted monologue? Idk how they r gonna do it but thats my guess. Im gonna do vocal warmups before the audition anyway and probably sing Candy Store (from Heathers) or Popular (from Wicked) before I get there bc I can't stop myself (lol) anyway, thats basically it, soo...

HEY GUYS IM NERVOUS AS HECK!!!!! AUDITIONS R ON THE FIRST REHEARSAL AND MY MOM DIDNT THINK TO TELL ME UNTIL LAST NIGHT!! IM SCREWED!! Anyway, here's some good news: I watched 101 Dalmatians last night for the first time! It was rly good! I wanna get either Anita (wife) or Cruella De Vil (antagonist) or maybe the maid/housekeeper? I forgot her name. (I'm pretty sure she's nameless btw) I swear my mom was like, "Well just remember, there's no cuts in the show so u might just get ensemble bc there's older kids" LIKE, IK MOM! THX FOR TELLING ME THAT IM PROBABLY NOT GONNA GET THE PART!! VERY SUPPORTIVE!!

And also, fyi, ITS A SHOW FOR 5-14 YEAR OLDS LIKE ITS ONLY 4 YEARS OLDER THAN ME!! AND PLUS, IF THEY WERE TALENTED, THEY WOULD BE IN A SHOW FOR MORE TALENTED KIDS!!! anyway, im gonna go scream in a pillow now bc I dnt know how the auditions r gonna go and im probably gonna have to have a song prepared but my mom said dnt worry abt it sooo....
