As a therian my self I want people to know that we don't have a mental illness, yes we have shifts and feel a undescrible connection to a certain animal does not mean we have a mental illness. Now im still awakening but I do belive that my therotype is a Serval or a Jungle cat since both are very similar it is a bit confusing to me, but anyway about therians. We are just a person, but inside our body we feel and think and sometimes act differently, and it is because we were born like this we were born with this animal in some way part of us, and we have shifts like phantom shifts where we feel ears, tails, muzzls, paws, gills, wings, basicly a animal trait that relates to your animal, then there are mental shifts where your mental state shifts to the animal of your theroype(s), there are also dream shifts, where your in your dream state and you dream of being your theotype ( sorry i dont know much about them since i have never had one.) We can not choose to be a therian because like i said we are born like this. I hope this will help since i hate seeing therians hated on but I also hate seeing people who ask simple questions and they get ridicule because of it.
