Dealing with a class bully

Post by brenda71 » Mon Sep 28, 2015 10:50 pm

I teach third grade and have a great bunch of kids in my class. One of the students is always picking on a few of the students. He has been sent to the Principals Office several times without much improvement. Notes and calls to his parents are not working. His parents don't seem to care and feel it is just part of being a kid. Getting really frustrated at this point. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm afraid the kids being picked on will drop out of school if things don't improve. Would like to transfer the bully to another classroom, but that is not an option at my school.

I would get the local authorities involved the moment you see any physical violence.

I think bullying is not a good part of any school or preschool. As a teacher, you must have a serious face to face talk with his parents. You can mention disadvantages as well as the ill effects of bullying to his parents.
