THE POPULARITY SCALE
I walk down the hall from the auditorium clutching my books. My mind is racing as I think about everything that went wrong at the audition. My voice cracked and I wasn't loud enough, and everything else. I look at the floor and ignore Jessica walking towards me.
"Hi, Paige! You will never get Glinda in the play. You just don't have the looks! You look more like a cow than a human!"
I push away from Jessica and keep walking. I just want freedom from this school. All people do is make fun of me. But of course that is just fanciful. It will never become true.
I walk over to my locker and put my books in. Then I grab my backpack and walk home.
