Last names

Can you please tell me how we got our last names?

I can sure kinda try!! My knowledge on this is very simple and spotty :p

I just know that some last names came from your family's trade. Like the name "Baker"- your family was obviously bakers! Or "Sangster"- usually had something to do with music!! But these are very European/ English last names.

Mine (which is a Russian last name) translates to "Son of ____" (not saying the name lol).

No, I just don't post the family name (the blank) because if you looked the phrase up, it would reveal my last name!! XD
