Insider info: The hackers are selling information that was breached on the dark web, and they targeted Ashkenazi Jews and also Chinese people and people of Chinese descent. The company thinks that the hackers broke into individual accounts and then used a feature called “DNA Relatives” to generate lists of people. Now 23andme is requiring every user to reset their password.
In total, about 7 million people’s information was leaked. Like I said, they targeted Jewish people, but I highly doubt all 7 million people were Jewish.
