My mom freaked out today. I was making hot dogs and my cat usually wants some. When I went to go to the table, my cat started meowing while rubbing against me and my mom told her to stop. I went to go to my bedroom to get water, and on my way out I tried to pet her to get her to calm down and my mom freaked out. She said that next time I pet her while she was trying to watch a video, which she always is, then my cat will be punished instead of me. She said I knew she was trying to hear something and that she always stops making noise when I’m trying to watch something 9 times out of 10, but that’s not true. Multiple times today, and pretty much all the time, I’m trying to hear my video but she just keeps talking to me or playing with the animals. I tried telling her the truth, saying it was a fact that she would have kept meowing, and my mom took my ipad away for tomorrow. I don’t know what to do. I’m in my room and my eyes sting from crying. I cant go back out to eat or she will ask why I’m crying and, when I respond honestly, she’ll take away more stuff and say I’m being dramatic. I just want a normal mom who’s not abusive. I want to stop her if she threatens to punish my cat or hurt my cat again, but I feel powerless. I know it sounds bad but every time I think about what she would do to my cat I want to get out ... and protect the only thing that I feel loves me in this world.
