I turned off notifs for upvotes but now it just gives me notifs like it will say i have 4 notifs but only 2 show up

It is including upvote counts, but not actually showing them because of your selected settings. Some users find this useful. It allows you to browse only answer/comment/message notifications.

Because it counts upvotes in the total, but only shows you answers, comments, etc
