"Side" story/ Part two: Around January, this girl, we'll call her M, calls me weird and annoying. J and her best friend, we'll call her A, tells me about it. I immediately get confused, considering I've never talked to this "M" girl in my life, nor have I heard of her last name (there are 3 people with the unabbreviated name in our school). I tell them that I am thankful for them sharing that with me, and decide to ignore it for a while. One day, I think it was in February, M decides to text me. She says something along the lines of "Hi Ray! This is M. I just wanted to know if maybe we can be friends?" Wanting to see where this would go, I said yes. We texted for a while until she said, "I can tell we are going to be great friends." Weirded out by the vibe of this message, I make up an excuse and stop texting her. For the next week or so, everything is going good. Until she texted me again. M said something like this, "Hi Ray! I just wanted to know if you were struggling with your mental health?" As stupid as I was, I told her the truth. She then said, "Oh but why? You're so beautiful and kind..!" Obviously shocked, I sent a screenshot to a group chat I thought I could trust. I said, "Ironic how she calls me weird but then has the audacity to call me kind." The message ended up being sent to her. I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out who told her. Guess who did?! J. J sent me a whole fruit looping essay on how she was soooo sorry and she only did it to see what M would say. Since I didn't know any better, I forgave her. Now, as I mentioned in the main story, she talks behind my back every once in a while. But the crazy thing? She isn't even real friends with M! She's just pretending because she feels bad since all M does is talk bad about other people and has no friends. Yesterday, I found out M was also saying I like L by none other than J. My friend and I, let's call her Thomas Jefferson (that's her favorite Hamilton character), are genuinely so confused, because somehow she's also getting talked about when she hasn't even done anything. Anyways, that's the other part to this story.
Again, feel free to ask any questions about the situation. Advice on how to move forward is also appreciated.
