my mean parents won't let me do anything!

What exactly are they doing that makes them seem mean? Normally, parents won’t let you do some things because they are worried for your safety and/or health. This is true with electronic time restrictions as well as not going to a party that a bunch of sketchy people invited you to. I have a hard time talking to my parents about their rules, but I try to go slow at first. Make sure you are not finger pointing, like, “You guys are so mean, you won’t let me do anything!!!” Try, “Hey, guys? I know you are good parents since you set the restrictions because you’re worried about me, but could we ease up he rules a bit, please?” Make sure to use manners! Sorry this was so long.

I’m sure that’s not true, what do you mean by that? I have very restrictive parents as well, and over time i’ve learned that it doesn’t mean they’re mean or don’t care, it means they care about you SO MUCH that they never want anything to happen to you! All you have to do is talk, they may not change rules completely, but hopefully you can come to a compromise ;)
