Description
The full-length trailer for Frozen II has arrived, and its full of symbolism, subtle hints, and possible hidden meanings. We break down 12 of these clues, and analyze all the theories about what they might mean.
We explain what the symbols on the runes mean and how theyre hiding in the movie poster. Plus, who was that brown-haired woman gazing out the window at the Northern Lights? What was Grand Pabbie talking about as he spoke in all those riddles about the past? Where did that water horse come from, and why was it staring directly at Elsa? Finally: Are Anna and Elsas parents really dead or are King Agnarr and Queen Iduna out there somewhere?
When the original Frozen hit theaters in 2013, the 3D-animated film quickly became a box-office hit and a cultural moment. A musical fantasy based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Snow Queen, it followed the adventures of Princess Elsa, her sister Anna, enchanted snowman Olaf, iceman Kristoff, Troll King Grand Pabbie, and the snow monster Marshmallow. This fall, Walt Disney Animation Studios looks to follow up that success with the release of a long-anticipated sequel.
There will be an expanded list of big-name actors contributing their voices to Frozen II, with two major additions to the 2013 cast. Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) and Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther, This Is Us) will be joining original stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, and Santino Fontana.
Frozen 2 is set to release on November 22, 2019.
