A new number texts your phone (if you don’t have a phone pretend you do)

The person says this: “Hello (your name), this is (your best friends name”

But something seems off

How do you test them to make sure they are who they say they are?

MY STRATEGY:

I think of 4-5 very personal questions that only people who know me really well can answer correctly

If I know them from school it includes “what hallway is my classroom in” and “what is my teachers name”

If I know them from somewhere else it includes “what is my favorite color” and “what is my moms name”

If I know them from both there’s a lot more questions

If they get 4/5 or all of them correct, they’re who they say they are

If they get 3/5 correct I quiz them on something VERY personal (what’s my irl name, what colors are my eyes, etc)

If it’s 2/5 or below then I block them

What’s your strategy?

Ik this is random but I just had to quiz a new number to make sure they were who they said they were

Honestly, I’d just befriend them.

If I’m actually talking to like an alien or smth, that’s cool.

Like I’m willing to be a human subject for whatever tests ypu doing.

(I can not fathom how many times we have dreamt up AUs of us getting kidnapped and tested on, so imo this would be really cool)

But if it’s just a random scammer that’s cool too.

Watch Megan is Missing.

Your perspective of online chatting will completely change (in addition to being traumatized).

Personally, I would just believe them until they ask me something that matters.

Well, wouldn't it just be easy to identify them by their voice? And why not we just ask them very specific questions that only our real best friend would know if they were with us in person once. For example, let's say we went out with our friend to the movies, we could then ask, "Hey! Which part of the movie did you like yesterday?" And don't be specific about what movie we are referring too, if our friend was actually calling us, they wouldn't question that question, they'd know what we are referring to.

First off, in this scenario they aren’t calling you, they are texting you

And if you and your friend DID go to the movies, you could ask that

But what if y’all DIDNT go to the movies. What’s your strategy?

you're saying this as if aii generated voices dont exist T_T like yes its their voice but it could be one of those voice changer things
