I saw this science trick on the web and was blown away! I wondered if it could be applied to a BIGGER situation… so… we made it BIGGER! Turns out the exact same science principle work on a larger scale!

The pencils or the dowel rods keep the water from leaking because the bags are made of a polymer. Polymers have long chains of molecules that are flexible. When we poke the pencil (or spear) through the bag, the pencil slides in between the chains of molecules that make up the polymer. The molecule chains make a seal around the pencil and won’t let the water out!

Also, I’m super excited to announce our partnership with Cheero USA!!! I love their rechargeable batteries (use them everyday) and am super proud to be working with them! They are running a campaign around this hashtag #PowerUpAndGo, so lets show them some Nickipedia love and use this hashtag in the comment section and on social letting us know your stoked Cheero is on board with Nickipedia!
