Description

Tamar Hoggarth nee Fletcher was born in 1860 in the North York Moors, northern England. She was one of seven children born to William and Ada Adamson of Marton / Cropton and Castle Howard. She went into service and had an illegitimate son before marrying Danvers Hoggarth in Whitby. They went on to have eight children, living most of their lives near Great Barugh, Malton. In one of the photographs she is pictured with Malcolm Hudson b1936, my wife's late father. Take time to get your ear used to her accent and dialect, for instance she used 'bairn' for 'child'.
