I strained my achilles...

Question

Hi its me cuber dude I am bored cause i can't do much, I strained my Achilles playing soccer and for those of you that don't know it is the longest tendon in your body, and if you tear it you have to have surgery then up to 8 months to heal... Luckily i only strained it, but it is still very painful. I will be on here for a couple days when I get bored.

That sucks. I may have ruptured my appendix, but then again, I'm no doctor. All that I know is that it hurts like crazy (I'm not exaggerating, I've had my leg ripped open with little beads of fat coming out before), I can't really stand up or walk, it only hurts from about the top of my hip bone up to about six inches under my armpit, and it goes a little bit into my stomach. Also I can't really eat without feeling like it's just going to come back up. Oh, and I know of a guy who ruptured his appendix and had to be flown about four hours away to a hospital.

Hopefully it gets better for you.

Yeah, ruptured appendixes can be fatal, but, you know, it's all good.

But what did you even do strain it? That seems like it'd be kind of hard to do, considering that it's literally at the back of your ankle. Did you just, like, stretch your heel out too far or something? I'm just trying to envision how one even accomplishes what you did. And can you walk?

You can strain it by over using it. I play soccer and have been doing too much running and strained it. Yeah i can walk but it feels like a hot knife is jabbing in the bottom of my heel every time I take a step. I actually just got back from soccer practice, and I got almost no rest the entire time 1 and a half hours of running and kicking. Long story short, very painful.

It sounds it. How much longer do they think till it heals? And you were still practicing even though you were injured?

Yeah it usually takes about 3 weeks.

Yeah i still played I just try not to run too much. Still bad for me though
