Once home, Steve collapsed onto the couch and said “Geez!”
Zuri came in and said “You still have to run away Kathy.”
Steve said “You know what?! My friends are more important than my family’s legacy! Call the council. See if I care.”
Zuri called the council and said “Hi guys, sorry to bother you. But, Steve isn’t listening to me to run away”
The council said “You’re abusing your power! We’re taking it away!”
Zuri said “Wait, will I still have some power over him?”
“Nope! Anyways, we’re also revoking your ability to do PvP and handing it all back to Steve.”
Zuri said “But, he dropped out!”
“Yeah. We just realized what he did was allowed at the time he did it.”
Zuri said “Please let me keep my PvP license!”
“Yes we will.” and hung up
Zuri said “Sadly, I got in trouble for abusing my power and now, you’re in charge of me again.”
Steve said “Oh, this will be sweet! Zuri! You have to sleep outside tonight!”
Alex said “No she won't, she'll have to sleep on obsidian. But, not outside.”
Steve said “Noor, you have to wash off the drawings you made on the walls. This Saturday at 2:00!”
Noor said “But, that’s two hours before my birthday party”
“Well… you better clean fast! And all of you study for your PvP placement test tonight! I’ll stay up with you! It may take five hours including the test I’ll give you! Plus any yelling for answers you get incorrect!”
All the kids ran and grabbed their PvP books.
Zuri said “Do I have to? I’ve read the advanced guide to PvP series all the way through.”
“Yeah you do.”
All the kids said “What exactly does this determine?”
“I’m not exactly sure. It began the year I left.”
Zuri said “Steve, it’s about seeing if we qualify for the extremely vigorous ones in college. Will you make us take those?”
“Wait!? There are extremely vigorous ones?!”
“Here’s the information book I got.” and handed Steve a book.
Steve looked throught it and said “Man oh man, these PvP classes these may qualify you for are expensive and more advanced than me! Geez, wish I’d completed school now. I will make you no matter what if you pass! If we can’t afford it, too bad! Each generation gets slightly better and I want that cycle to end!”
Then the rest of the kids said “Done,”
Steve said “Very good. Now, for a little trivia battle.” and put a water bottle on the table and said “Touch the top if you think you know the answer!”
Alex said “Kids! If you have a test tomorrow, you should go to bed early!”
All the kids rushed upstairs. On the way up, Steve gave them all mini tape players and headphones as well as a PvP info tape.
The next morning, when Steve woke up all the kids, he asked them an advanced PvP question. All got it right but Noor.
Noor said “I despise PvP!”
“You listen! You '' his voice increased “will '' his voice went back to normal volume”take these PvP classes. You” his voice increased “will '' his voice went back to normal “do your best on this placement test and you ' his voice increased “will '' his voice went back to normal “take these classes seriously!”
Noor said “But, Alex is okay if we don’t like PvP. She wants us to follow our dreams and I want to be a famous engineer!”
“Well too bad. My dream is for you to become a famous PvP master!”
Alex yelled “Noor honey, you’re going to miss the bus.”
Steve yelled “We’re taking them today!”
“This isn’t about that ridiculous PvP placement test is it?”
“Nope.”
When Noor was ready, Steve rushed everyone to the car and once they were moving, said “Guys, this test could determine if you make it to the most advanced of advanced classes on PvP or wind up a big PvP failure like Oliver.”
Zuri said “Actually, right now in my PvP class, we’re learning about your family’s legacy and how it was brutally taken then regained in the third generation”
Steve said “Aww. Wait! Who do you have for PvP class”
“Ms. Bontle”
The rest of the kids said “Mr Dansmall”
Steve said “I’ll have a meeting with both of them to see if I can figure out why most of you hate PvP”
Noor said “I’m the only one that hates it and it’s kind of because of you!”
“Me?! How?!”
“When we were young, you used to always take away our toys when we didn’t participate in the game against you when you went easy on us.”
“That’s because legends have to start very early in life!”
Alex said “Alright, for next year, I’ll see if I can convince Steve to not make you take PvP. I’ll chat with him today for him to get an idea of why I want to let you guys do the classes you want”
Then they arrived.
Steve said “Good luck on the placement exam!”
Zuri said “Steve, I don’t want to do PvP for my living!”
“We’ll talk when you get home. You just do your best! Because if if any of you fail… this will seriously affect my family’s legacy”
All the kids said “Yeah, we’ll try.”
Zuri said “We’re allowed to have help from a legend. I want you to help me!”
“I’m sorry, it wouldn’t be fair to the rest of the kids”
“Okay.”
Once back home, Alex led Steve to the couch and said “Okay. As you know I don’t care what dreams our kids have and want them to follow their dreams.”
“What if it’s greifing?”
“Still. You can do that professionally”
“No you really can’t. Trust me on this one greifing ruins lives!”
“Anyways, I would like it if our kids were able to follow their dreams. Okay?”
Steve said “I do too. But, I want them to take at least two years of PvP.”
“Oh.”
When school let out, Zuri rushed in beaming with joy and yelled “Look at my grade!”
Steve looked at it and said “Oh my gosh! You are way more than qualified to take the advanced classes. Great job! I know you’re super interested in PvP”
All the rest of the kids came in slowly and Steve looked at their grades and saw they got 45s.
Steve burrowed his face in his hands and said “Welp, I guess that’s it. My family’s legacy is going to fall apart in a few days. Weeks if lucky. Months if really lucky. Years if extremely lucky. But, not long enough for a another generation to be added”
Zuri wailed “No!”
“Yes. I’m afraid so.””
“My dreams are crushed”
“I’ll see if I can pull some strings and make it last for a few more”
“Thanks”
“It may get it so I can never do it again”
Noor said “Steve, can we please go back to Minecraft dungeons with you?”
Steve said “Oh my! I haven’t thought about that in ages! I’ll see if you can this summer!”
“Yay!”
Alex said “Steve! I don’t want them to die! I won’t let them go!”
Steve said “I’ll go”
Alex then got a text from Valorie and found out she had been taken over by the orb.
She sighed and said “Okay, I’ll take you. Only because one of my friends from there is in serious danger.”
Steve said “Yes.”
Zuri said “What about my PvP life?”
“Aww Zuri, you can continue when we get back.”
Alex said “Steve, you’ll be staying back with Zuri!”
Zuri said “Steve? Please convince Alex to let me go with them”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
“Aww thanks!”
That night in bed Steve said “Alex?”
She said “What?” tiredly
“Wll, Zuri wants to come with you to dungeons”
“Nope! She’s the weakest in mob combat! Remember those training sessions I sometimes do with them?”
“Yeah. Makes no sense because she's the strongest in PvP.”
“Is she really?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ve seen her do it and she is actually weakest. Ironically, Noor is the strongest. You are just highly delusional and want the legend out of them to be the best.”
“I’m not delusional!”
“Yeah, you are!”
“Fine, I’ll just show you the videos.” and got up and grabbed a tape and inserted it into the player and pressed play.
Steve saw Zuri was best and after it was done, Alex said “Sorry I doubted you”
The next morning, Steve woke up and to his horror, Alex wasn’t there.
He looked all over the house frantically looking for her.
He then started to look for the kids and found nobody.
Steve did find a note on the counter that read. Out looking for gifts for you. Be back in a flash, my little Stevie-bunch.
Steve sighed heavily and said “Welp, I guess I have the house to myself for a bit. Better catch up on my PvP news and things”
Steve then logged onto his computer and looked up PvP news and saw an article on himself. He thought “Let’s see what these people think of me.” and clicked on it.
By the time he was done reading, his anger was boiling. He read another article on PvP and calmed down.
Then Alex got home.
Steve turned around and said “Oh hello”
Alex said “Faster guys! To the basement! Hurry up!”
All the kids ran to the basement with Alex to wrap the gifts.
About five minutes later, went back up and Alex said “So sorry I didn’t tell you.”
Noor said “Yeah. We spent a total of-
Alex shoved him and whisper-yelled “Don’t tell him how much we spent! He's very picky about how many diamonds we spend on things.”
Noor said “5-”
“Don’t tell him or you’ll have to pay for me back for all the gifts yourself!”
“Hundred diamonds”
Steve quickly spat out the coffee he was drinking and said “Oh great, Wow I have to clean this mess up.” sarcastically “I’m getting awfully old for getting down on my hands and knees.”
Alex said “Steve, it’s okay. It was Noor’s fault, he cleans it up.”
Steve said “Nah, I’ve got it. For a while I may be in pain though.”
Alex nodded and said “Okay. As long as you’re aware”
Steve grabbed the cleaning supplies and as he was cleaning, Noor started to draw on the carpet with markers.
Steve completed the coffee stain then he said “Noor! If you want, me and Alex can build you a house where you can draw all over the walls.”
Alex said “Steve, there is no way I can carry enough wood anymore! Maybe back when we first met.”
Steve nodded and said “I guess it’s up to me then.”
Makenna said “Alex? Can I help him? Or better yet do it for him?”
“You’ll have to ask him”
“Steve, can I help you or do it for you?”
“Aww Makenna. I would love that. You may do it for me. Noor, how big do you want it?”
“As big as this house!”
“Okay so get two stacks of logs”
“Got it”
Makenna then said “Permission to use the forest nearby to gather wood?”
“Yeah as long as I come with you!”
Alex said “Steve! Wait! I have something to give you!”
Steve turned around and said “What is it?”
“Put your hands out.”
Steve put his hands out and closed his eyes and Alex put a photo of when they were young in the arena together.”
Steve said “Aww, Alex. How sweet of you! Now out of curiosity how much did this cost?”
“Actually nothing! I gave Kathy the tape of our battle together and she somehow removed a picture from it and then framed it and gave it to me to give to you from her as a farewell gift”
“What?! She’s leaving?”
“No, I was just kidding. She gave it to me because I asked her to do it to make up for making you adopt these kids.”
Steve said “Aww. That’s sweet. You have my tape?”
“Yeah! Still works.”
Steve said “Makenna, let me just place this with my PvP awards and put the tape in the right spot,”
Steve an upstairs and placed the photo right in the middle of his awards wall. He then took the tape from Alex and put it away.
Then he said “Makenna! Time to go!”
Makenna said “Not now Steve, I’m talking to a friend!”
Alex then kissed Steve on the cheek and said “Goodbye my love” While holding her travel bag “I’m going to dungeons to help Val. Oh how nice it’ll be to see her again. Haven’t seen her in many years. Don’t let the kids do anything ridiculous and for goodness sakes,let them not take any PvP classes next year. “
Steve nodded and said “Okay. Bye my little munchkin. Call me every night”
“But, who knows what time it will be when I call you. It may end up being the middle of the night. By the way, do you still have the remnant of redemption?”
“Yes I do.” and ran upstairs, grabbed it, ran back down and gave it to Alex.
Alex said “Good. I’ll try to be back for your birthday. It probably won’t happen but, I’ll try”
“How about I call you?”
“Good idea. I may be a little busy fighting but, I’ll try to talk to you!”
“Goodbye. See you when you get back!”
All the kids said “Can we come with you?”
Alex said “Nope. I have very important stuff to do there. Oh, how long did it take for you to heal from the orb?”
“Only a few seconds”
“Yeah. I’ll be back in time! Bye!” and kissed all the kids and Steve.

Once she left. Steve sighed heavily and said “Alright guys! There’s going to be a few changes around here! You will have an hour of PvP training a day! I won’t help you with your homework and lastly, rules will get a whole lot stricter. I have a punishment system in my head so, if any of you misbehave, I’m going to punish you! Now, let’s go gather wood for Noor’s little house where he’ll be able to draw on the walls all he wants.”
All the kids (except Noor) said “No fair! He gets to draw on the walls?! Why can’t we?!”
“He’ll only be able to do it at certain times!”
Noor said “Come on Steve, we don’t have all day!”
Steve then looked out the window and saw it was getting a bit late and said “Nope! Too risky at the time! I’m truly sorry about this Noor. It’ll be at least a few days until you get your drawing house.”
Noor said “Until then can I use your house?”
“Nope! You’ve seen how long it takes for me to get your drawings off the walls!”
“Fine!”
Steve said “Welp, I guess it’s time to start on dinner.”
“It’s only 4:30!”
“Yeah. Tonight I’m having a meeting with Kathy and the council. I’m officially resigning the legacy. We’ve been the family of PvP for generations. It’s about time that I hand it down.”
Zuri said “Steve! No! Just wait until I give it to my kids and then resign.”
Steve sighed and called Alex who picked up and said “Yeah? I’m about to give up the remnant.”
“Is it time I tell them about how they came to be with us?”
“Wait until I get back.”
“Can I tell them now?”
“Sure. Be prepared to do a whole lot of comforting.”
“Okay thanks.”
Steve hung up and sighed and said “Kids, how do you think we wound up with us?”
Noor said “Creeper brought us?”
Steve said “No…”
Makenna said “We’re actually villager children and our parents didn’t want us?”
“No…”
Efe said “Did you craft us?”
“No…”
Zuri said “Oh… were we dropped on your porch by the dragon?”
“No…”
Kai said “You found us out on the streets and took us in?”
“Getting there. But, no.”
Sunny said “Umm we’re robots?”
“Not even close, Sunny. But, you never fail to amuse me”
Ari said “Umm we just adventured here and you took us in?”
“Nope! You were all adopted. You’re technically not my family.”
Zuri said “So, this whole time, I’ve been part of a different legacy than you?!”
“Nope! You’re technically in my family by adoption so,you’ve still been using my legacy”
“Who will you give it to?”
“I’m thinking of Oliver.”
Zuri yelled “No! I will prevent you from handing your legacy down!”
“You’re also part of the meeting with them.”
Then the council arrived.
Steve sent all his kids to Oliver’s..
When the meeting started, the council said “Alrighty, so, we understand you want to give up your legacy.”
“Yeah”
Zuri asad “Please don’t”
The council said “We’re afraid the youngest legend in the family gets to pick if you surrender your legacy.”
Zuri said “Never too young to ruin it for your parents!”
Kathy then came by and said “Hi Steve, ready to go out to eat with me?”
“Oh. Tomorrow maybe. I am in a meeting now.”
The council said “But, you can still surrender your personal legacy.”
“Nah”
“Good! Now, Zuri. We have to ask you a few questions to verify you can be added to the hall of fame.”
Steve said “Woah there! It took me over ten years to reach that point! She’s been doing it for less than three!”
Zuri said “Steve! Please let me?”
Steve sighed and said “Fine!”
The council said “Steve, you have to stay here. Now Zuri, do you want to get into the hall of fame?”
“Yeah!”
“Okay, so, would you like to stay there or get to the one of legends one day?”
“Legends?”
“Would you like a PvP agent?”
“Umm… do I need one?”
“No”
Steve said “Zuri, this agent will seriously make you be better”
“Sure!”
“Now, who would you like?” and handed Zuri a big book.
Steve opened it and said “You see the diamond with a number on it? That’s the cost. And the little text is the benefits of picking them”
