9/11

Question

I know it’s not 9/11, but real quick, can we just acknowledge how many lives were lost on 9/11?

A big chunk of the 3,000 deaths were first responders.

It’s honestly kind of sad that this is a meme.

There’s some very rare footage of the first tower being it. I can’t link it (because the s-word is said multiple times), but you can look up “first plane impact 9/11” and the first video that pops up, click on it.

The twin towers collapsed shortly after the impact.

I heard a sick joke about it

"why is new york so bad at chess?"
"Because they always lose their towers"

I laughed when I heard it but now I feel bad about laughing about it

Yeah, I watched 2 of the videos that show the first tower being hit. One was a news station thing that had live footage of the twin towers. It wasn’t recording at the time of the impact but you could hear the sound and the people running away from it. A second after the sound, the camera was turned to face the first tower.

The second video shows the first tower being hit by the plane in real time. Someone was driving on a road and accidentally captured the scene.

There’s also a documentary that was about I believe firefighters in NY, but then the plane hit the tower and the documentary completely changed.

My uncle almost died that day.

It's very upsetting that people are making memes out of it.

my dad was nearby there. He had to take I believe a ferry to evacuate to Hoboken NJ.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the callous of the internet never ceases to confuddle sensible people. I think it is good for us to revere at the cruelty of mankind every once in a while, but overdosing leads nowhere well.

Naw. The number 911 was created in memory of the event. The event did not take place so that it matched up with that number because that number wasn't a thing back then.
