Dog/parent problems

⚠️ WARNING⚠️  this is depressing

So one of my dogs shep I love him so much he is my therapist I cannot live without him but he has a lot of issues with allergies and digestion and his skin and my parents are divorced and hate each other. So my sisters and I, and my dog were dropped off at my dad's house and sheps paw started bleeding his paw pad looked chewed open and burned, so we put cream on it, wrapped it in gauze, taped it on, and put a sock on it to keep him from chewing it more. He was also SO STINKY AND DIRTY desperately in need of a shower but at my mom's house the dog shower is broken and she refuses to shower him in a non dog shower and his skin was bleeding for scratching it. So my dad and stepmom were discussing taking him to the vet and just shaving him even though my mom explicitly said don't shave him. And I would like him to be shaved he would be much happier but my mom doesn't think so. And this whole experience just made me realize that I am constantly in the middle of fights between my parents and that my dog is old and suffering and it's my fault because I don't take good enough care of him and I know someday soon I am going to have to let him go but just the thought makes me want to scream and yell and sob and bury myself 10000000 ft under and die because I love him so much. And to make it worse when that inevitable day comes, I can't say honestly that he had a long and happy life ?

If you dont feel like hes lived his happiest life then try to give it to him before he is gone, i mean we can all be gone in an instant you never know, so do what you can to make that dog feel happy, and to make you feel happy cuz split custody sucks so bad i hope you find your peace

Your dog suffering is NOT your fault.

Also how exactly is your dog being old your fault? You had no say in when it was born.
