I'm getting diagnosed

Question

Soo..I'm getting diagnosed for ADHD on March 16. I think I might have it or I just have ADD but I can't say anything yet. The guy who is diagnosing me is also gonna talk about getting medication for my anxiety disorder. It kinda sucks that I might get medication because when it comes to medicine, I'm very picky. The fact that my anxiety has become a disorder is kinda, like, oof in my face. Any tips?

I’m sorry, I prob don’t have any good tips. You could always just say no if you don’t want medication. My therapist once recommended me for medication, but my mom said no. Even if you are diagnosed with it, you might feel a little bit better, even, because now you know what the heck is going on.

Yeah, you're right about that. My mom said if I have ADHD or anything like that she didn't want me to get medication, but she didn't say anything about anxiety medication after my therapist recommended it probably cause she wanted to see what the diagnosing guy thinks.

some of them do, just ask. I know the most common one is lack of sleep and appetite.

yeah. My friend says that after a week or two, the side effects lessen, but still ugh.

GAD? oh wait yeah that means general anxiety disorder. I get anxiety sometimes, but not really huge panic attacks, i mean, they're still panic attack, but not as crazy big,  and only like once or twice a week.

I sorta know how you feel? My dog helps me,  I love her so much and would never ever ever ever want to leave her.  She's always here for me, and obviously, because she's my dog, she can't really judge me, she is my best friend.

Yeah, it was crazy. I was like WHATTTTT and then he was like but ya gotta wait till summer... and i was like oh well but STILL! It took me 4 1/2 years of begging.
