WoF: I'm writing a fanfic, any tips?

Question

I had an AMAZING idea for a main character and it was SO GOOD that I just HAD to make a fanatic fiction out of it!

Basically

A NightWing that can see the past instead of the future. Example, she sees Peacemaker and has a vision about Darkstalker

The main character's name is Ghostspeaker (ik creepy name but deal with it lol jk)

Have any of you ever made a fan fiction? Do you have any tips? What should be the plot?

You should probably focus on your character's backstory such as who is their family and how they get their unusual powers were they around when Darkstalker woke up.(If so did they go to the old night kingdom) And make sure you have a basic plot set up as well as some main characters prepared.(You can change details as you go along) Hope this helps you!

I'm writing a book, not fanfic, but I suggest (if you don't have this suggestion already) you to practice your wording before much anything, and try making your story stand out, add things in there that make sense, but don't make sense at the same time if you get what I'm saying. idk if this helped, but good luck tho pookie<3

spend time on the art, make characters memorable, leave off on cliffhanger

try to lay out a timeline. a timeline can help you build up your overall story. i myself am writing a fanfic, and would really reccommend you take notes from the writertok side of tiktoc. some of the people there have some great tips. think of it like when sculptors use something like balled up tinfoil as the bases of their project. the tinfoil represents to timeline, and the rest of the overall story is represented by the clay that is layed over top of it. without a timeline, your story is likely to fall apart.

Find what helps you generate more ideas and wheneer you're stuck mid sentence, do that.

When out of ideas when not mid-sentence you can use the writers block cure under plot generator on this website

REMEMBER IF YOU DON'T PUBLISHE THE IDEAS WITHIN TEN MINUTES OF GENERATING THE IDEAS THEY GET DELETED AND I DON'T THINK ANYONE WILL BE ABLE TO GET THAT IDEA AGAIN.

As u to know I write fanfic. So, whenever you have an idea that you can't incorporate at the time or you are doing something where you can't write your fan fiction write your idea down.

It sounds AWESOME!!!! For the main plot, you should have a goal for the main character. Like defeating  a bad guy,  or trying to achieve something. Example: Ghostspeaker is trying to defeat his mortal enemy Dragonhater and stay away from the dragons in the process,  because he's scared of other dragons . While he is on this quest he meets another dragon, and learns that they aren't so scary after all.  Meanwhile Dragonhater is coming up with a plan to eliminate dragons forever.

So far that's all I've come up with so far, but let me know if you need more inspiration.
