Dad problems

Question

This is some stuff that is going on with my dad today and in the past..

1: In the morning, he thought I was sneaking last night with my iPad, (because I did last week) BUT I DIDN’T!! I WAS TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP!!

2:  Just because I wasn’t paying attention to what he was saying one time at dinner, he said “If you won’t listen to me, I won’t listen to you.” And I don’t want that! I just was paying attention to eating!

3: So in the past. When I was trying to understand what he meant one time, he told me to go upstairs and I heard him say Idiot. And then I started to cry because I knew that he was saying that I was an idiot. When he came upstairs a few mins ago saying why are you crying? It was because of what he said and then he said “Just get over it.” It REALLY HURT my feelings 

4: He always yells at me because I don’t understand stuff and also when I don’t pay attention to what he says, he says that he’s talking to a wall. (I’m the wall) 

5: He doesn’t listen to what I say too.

What should I do? I live in his house! 

I don’t want to get yelled at the whole year!

Hey I totally understand what ur going thru, my mom is the same way, its like no matter what I do im always doing sum wrong in her eyes. My mom is not an easy person to talk to and I dont know if ur Dad is, but my advice to u is ask him to have a conversation abt it specifically, ask him why he feels the way he does, but make sure he knows u r not trying to be rude or disrespectful. Tell him that you want to have a good relationship with him and you want to work at this if he is willing to. Its what i did with my mom and it worked...we still have things to work on bc nobody can change all at once but its a work in progress and simply knowing the things I know now a part of me can better understand why she acted the way she did and that knowledge helps when of if she does it again! I hope this helps and I hope things get better, js try to remember your r a great person no matter what!

Thanks and also my Dad gets mad at me because of working all day and my little sister Rylee causing chaos in the house. At least that’s what I think it is.

And yes. It is hard to talk to him especially when now he won’t listen to me. He’s sleeping right now because today is part of the weekends but yeah. I always worried about myself if I’m bad because I have mean classmates at school calling me annoying because I liked to talk last school year. My best friend didn’t want to be friends with me before, (we’re still friends right now tho) my dad says mean and hurtful things to me even when he says that he is telling the truth, and that’s why I’m so stressed and sad today

Im so sorry u feel this way! sometimes kids r annoying hey ive been annoying plenty of times! all the time!!! but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with u yk, and with friends there's always gonna be drama involved especially as kids in school, u js have to remember that everybody is going thru their own stuff and to talk it out when u need to, even if they don't listen like with ur dad, at u know that u tried to make a difference and that he wasn't willing to listen, I hope it gets better tho u seem like a really sweet person who doesn't deserve to feel this way! (well nobody deserves it lol)
