Once upon a time, a velociraptor scurried through the plains of its environment. The air rustled through the tall grass stems, the lizard tyrant was feeding off of the flesh of a poor triceratops, and a baby pterodactyl had just come out of its shell and immediately took flight, something that was abnormal for most of its kind...
All was well with the reptilian-ruled land.
...
Until a recent 65 million years ago.
A titan space rock was to break into the feeble Earth's blue surface. A handful of unsuspecting animals looked up to the heavens, wondering what the gigantic rip in the innocent sky was. Little did they know, that rip would be their very last vision.
One lizard tyrant cried out in ignorance, simply ignoring the ominous tear in the sky and going about its day.
The tear in the sky quickly became known as a rock from above, and it crashed into the tyrant, breaking the uneven ground below and causing a massive outward explosion that instantly killed everything it touched. Soil and dust was violently thrown up into the air and filled the atmosphere with lung-destroying ash. The sun became hidden behind a black overcast, and plant life quickly began to die out due to the lack of light.
Temperatures dropped to a frightening low without the heat from the sun. Years went by, and life slowly died, piece by piece.
The little velociraptor no longer ran through the grassy plains. He lie there, drawing his last dusted breath... Before quietly running through the fields of the heavens.
