Electives

Question

Hello once again!

The Course Catalog came for the 2021-2022 school year at the Middle School, and I'm thinking about what electives to take. We are also required to have 4 alternative choices, different from the primary electives. Languages are 1 year courses, all the rest are semester courses. Basically, we're allowed to have either 5 semester courses, 2 year-long courses and a semester course, or a combination of the two. Here is what I'm thinking about doing:

PRIMARY ELECTIVES:

1. French 1A

2. Introduction to Forensics

3. Drama

4. Speech (required to take it in order to participate on the Debate Team next year)

ALTERNATES:

1. Astronomy

2. Creative Writing

3. Recreational Sports (basically just a repeat of Elementary Phys Ed)

4. Yoga (yes, its a class they're offering)

Hopefully we'll be able to go in-person. Crossing my fingers.

dang thats a lot of electives. my school offers 3 electives; speech, sewing and cooking

Sounds fine. Does your school have electives in middle school? Mine doesn't, only in high school. I don't think I have a limit then, besides, I have to earn a bunch of elective credits. Thinking about woodshop (like the teacher, plus the class needs more girls), art (I want to be an artist), creative writing (I love writing stories), and some computer classes (Microsoft stuff, looks good to colleges), photoshop (helps with digital art), and stuff like that. For the most part, I know what I want to join, and I am trying to make sure it will look good to colleges, that way I can get into one easier. Plus, lots of art classes to go to an art college. Most of my high school electives will be aimed at art.

Yeah, the Middle School where I live allows us to choose electives. We need a certain amount of credits, but it was just easier to explain that way.
