Runaway
INTRODUCTION
Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Drene, and I am a 11-year-old lesbian therian who lives with devoted Christian parents, A.K.A. non-supporters. I came out to them last night, and my Dad almost slapped me. My mom even cried. So, as a result, I am running away.
CHAPTER ONE
I stuff my mask and tail into my backpack on top of piles of clothes, and next to my bags and bags of chocolate-covered pretzels, dried mangos, and TrolliĀ® gummies as I look at my bedside digital clock. 11:46pm. Mom and Dad should be sleeping by now. I grab my phone and jam in my airpods, slinging my bag over my shoulder.
I take one last look at my room, knowing I will never see this place again. I slip on my converse that I had drawn claws on and stand up.
"It's for the better." I say, and start tip toeing down the hallway before I can change my mind.
I slowly crack open and close the front door, quickly running down the driveway and into the sidewalk. I've never been outside this late. The night feels like it has it's own elements aside from the day. There are crickets chirping and night animals running around in the woods not too far from here.
I walk for a while, until my phone shows 2:07am. I find a park and lay against a tree, resting my head. I squeeze my pride heart necklace, and close my eyes.
"Nice necklace." A boy says in the distance.
"Who's there?" I ask, quickly opening my eyes.
"Hunter." The boy answers.
