Description
Researchers at the University of California, Davis have created the first scanner to capture an image of the entire human body at once.
EXPLORER is an incredibly efficient PET/CT scanner and that's medical imaging could be used to detect cancer and different types of diseases, as well as for drug research.
The breakthrough medical technology can scan much faster or with much lower radiation doses relative to other scans in nuclear medicine, and the researchers expect to install the first machine in early 2019.
