My summer problem

So every summer I go to SD to visit my dad, this year I went to a new school and made a bff. Summer camp is 2 weeks overnight with a bunch of people from school! So I was wondering if she will still be my friend when I get back? Its 2 months! What should I do? I can text her but still! What if she makes a new friend and I become a 3rd wheel! What if.........?

If you are TRUELY friends you won't just become a third wheel.

You may become less close.

She will still be your friend! A lot of us did not see our friends for a year when covid was really bad, and personally I think that strengthened my friendships, because we were apart for a long time but we still stayed friends.

Summer Camp sounds like an absolute blast!! I always wanted to go to one like that.

Of course she will still be your friend! If she decides not to be your friend, well, she wasn't that great of a friend then, was she??

Like you said, you can always keep in touch with her over the summer. Try calling instead of texting! It provides more of a human connection than texting.

If she does make more friends, you should be happy for her! And then what? You make new friends (or get to know her new friends)! Do't section yourself off to just one person :)
