The girl ran, she ran as fast as she could into the forest, hoping they would not catch up with her. She stopped and heard nothing, were they gone. The girl stood there sweating trying to catch her breath, it was at that moment when she noticed where she was, she was in a clearing surrounded by large oaks, she could not remember the last time she saw trees. Overflowing with curiosity she took a step, and then another, to the point where she was only a few feet away from one of the largest trees. something shook underneath her feet, she looked down. A man hole. Random, she thought. At that moment she heard a voice, a voice telling her to come towards it, a voice urging her to follow it. Then she realized where the voice was coming from.
The manhole.She slowly lifted the cover, it weighed half her size. She carefully stepped down the ladder making sure not to make a single sound. The smell wasn’t worse than the smell above though. Suddenly something touched her foot. She held her breath, afraid of what might happen if she moved. Then she heard something coming closer and closer to the point where it sounded as if it was right beside her. It was the voice.
