tips for gardening?

Question

I want to start keeping plants in my house or in my room, but honestly I've never kept plants besides stuff my mom kept (she does NOT have a green thumb). Do you have any tips on how to keep them alive, how to get my cats to not chomp on them, or plants that are good for bug repellent? I'm very afraid of spiders and I think this year the thing that's gonna stay in my house over the winter is unfortunately spiders. I know lavender is very good but is there anything else that's effective? :3

Try succulents, or cacti if you are willing to deal with the spikes and pain of replanting them. They are easy and drought tolerant! Herbs are good too, but are a bit finicky, and plants that grow from clippings are good as well. I have a few tropical plants ( I live in TX). None of the plants I have are cat or bug resistant or repelling though, for the cats maybe just try to get them to lose interest? Place them on a windowsill and check them ~every 3 days or week or so, depending on if you remember.   Good luck!

ooooh I forgot about succulents! My gosh i'd love cacti but I have cats lol

Plant them in dirt and water them daily, also make sure to put em in a spot with lots of natural light

I would do some venus flytraps and some citronella

if you have those spray bottles for hair use them for your plants

Yea venus flytraps eat flies and citronella keeps away mosquitoes
