Chapter One: The Islay
Have you ever heard of the Kindler? Of course not. The Kindler is the one who decides if you live or die, by blowing out or stroking your life's burning fire. The weaker the blaze, the more sicker or injured you are. The Kindler tends to that flame, and strikes another one when a new animal or person is conceived... and blows it out when one dies.
I was surprised when I first met the Kindler. She was of a weird folk, living in a dank old cave. But, more of that later. I have not introduced myself. I am the Caretaker, the one who cares for any animals, although I do not decide their fate.
I am a group called the Islaye. There are a total of six Islayes, as we are often referred to, and they are: the Socialer, named Zion, the Hearthstone, called Granite, the Misery, named Fogye, the Paradise, named Sincere, the Kindler, dubbed Freeyjie, and the Caretaker. The Socialer watches over the people Kiva, the only race of people that live here on Jaykie World. They are like fairies, but much bigger, and can morph into both mermaids and fairy-like specimens. The Hearthstone decides about the natural resources, the Misery brings bad luck, the Paradise gives good luck. The Kindler decides our fate and also is in charge of whom comes back as whom. And the Caretaker, me, Misitque, tends to the creatures of this land: dragons, unicorns, centaurs...
