Another One
The Arbiter simply shrugged off the shots and kept walking, and deployed its energy sword, took a swing at the Marine, and accidentally stabbed a Plasma Battery, which exploded and weakened the Arbiter. It then blindly swung the sword into yet another Plasma Battery, which exploded it into the blue pit. The Marine then walked off with its energy sword, and exited the trench. While an interesting experience, he had to report back to base.
The Marine drove back, and began his duty of reinforcing the base. Suddenly, a stray Grunt ran into range, Plasma Grenades in hands, and was shot dead and thrown into a sand pit. Suddenly, a large detachment of Wraiths approached, and everyone was thrown back into action. A stray mortar shot launched a Warthog into the air, crushing a Covenant Ghost, and it’s Elite. Another shot crashed into the door, causing it to melt, and a final shot went inside and destroyed a mess hall. The Wraiths moved ahead, thinking it would be an easy fight. But they were wrong, as several Close Defense Turrets, MAC guns, and a Warthog launcher popped out of the bases seemingly empty emplacements. A Warthog was shot into a Wraith, and it ignited into flames. The rest of the Wraiths were blown to bits, and a surviving Elite hopped out and ran towards the base, getting shot in the arm and stabbing a jerry can, blowing itself up. A cleanup crew was dispatched and they plated the walls of the fort with the special armor of the Wraiths. The hole in the door was repaired with the engine of a Wraith and some more plating, when the CO of the base noticed one Marine frequently disappearing from the base, and decided to shadow him on a Mongoose.
The Marine from earlier, had gone back into the blue pit, and started looking at the teleporters, when the CO from earlier arrived, and walked through the trench, and he found the soldier who had been frozen alive, and saw his frozen hand on a metal box, which the CO took and opened, revealing a complex detonation system. The CO buried it next the soldiers hands, and found the secret entrance, walking down to the blue pit, where he found the Marine. Assault Rifle pointed, shouting “You are absent without leave, surrender yourself now.” The Marine then told the CO to follow him, where he showed the CO what he found, and a secret entrance. The CO then unlocked the door, and walked in, finding a old suit of Miljoner Mark V armor, and a seemingly empty weapon rack. The CO flipped on the lights, finding a cryo bay, with one tube active. They decided to open it. The tube didn’t open, as a large amount of the ice had frozen the tubes glass,. They manually removed the glass, and took the now thawing Spartan out. They laid him on a medical table, and examined him to see if they had any hope left. The Spartan suddenly woke up and smacked the CO to the ground, spun around and saw the Marine, his armor, and the empty weapon rack. He then figured what had happened. They’d lost. A while ago. The Spartan then pulled a panel off a wall, then turned on the lights. The room was actually a gigantic UNSC starship that had crashed, and instead of removing it, it was incorporated into a larger UNSC facility. The Spartan then grabbed his armor and put it on himself. He then found out it had been 30 years since his comrades had “died”. He grabbed the last assault rifle, a magnum, and a handful of clips. He then ordered the Marines to help him strap up. The CO looked out the window and saw… an Elite. It was somehow launched from somewhere, and it then flayed its jaws in the window, and attempted to cut the metal and attack the CO, but the now half armored Spartan punched through the glass and pulled in the Elite, whose head was smashed into bits. The Spartan then shoved the Elite out of the window, which drifted away.
