Silens I Chapter 35
I waited for everyone to get done with breakfast before slinking off. However, Toby caught me before I could leave, by the scruff of my jacket hood. I glanced around and he pulled me into a room roughly. "What?" I spat.
"Easy tiger," he said. "I just want to talk to you."
"Yeah, about Lucas and me, right?!" I said savagely.
He shrugged. "I"ll never stop being jealous of you two, but I wanted to say I think I like Hazyl now. "
"Congrats." I said, with a snarl. "You think. What's next, you think you want to marry her, but you're not sure?"
"I guess. I've changed my mind. I'll always hate Lucas and love you but I need to move on."
"Sure, lover boy, be my guest." I said.
Lucas entered at that moment. He didn't see me with my teeth clenched and fists balled, and Toby standing there all slack, but he looked like he did. Toby glanced at him with some type of dismissive envy, but looked back at me with a clear gaze.
"Have you told Hazyl you like her?" I snapped.
"No, she'll only reject me and make fun of me."
"Nice," I rolled my eyes. "BYE." I said, walking out. Lucas was about to speak, but I shouldered past him. I stalked up to Hazyl, and she looked at me.
"I know," she said. "I don't like him. I think he feels torn. So many girls that he likes and none of them like him back." Hazyl took a breath. "Still looking for my someone." she muttered, "If I even find him."
I sighed. "Hey, Willow," I said. She looked at me cheerily. "You seen Tom?"
She nodded, and pointed. "Outside."
"Okay, just making sure." I said, and walked back to Lucas. "Toby says he thinks he likes Hazyl." Lucas seemed surprised. "But Hazyl doesn't like him." I sighed and hugged Lucas. Being taller than me, I could lean into his warm shoulder without fear his chin would knock into my head. He hugged me back. I could sense that Toby was nearby, staring daggers at me, but I ignored him, and looked up at Lucas with my yellow eyes.
"You doing okay?" he asked.
"Yeah... I guess." I said.
Hazyl and Willow barged in, and Tom followed them into the kitchen, where Lucas and I were. "Hey, lovebirds," Hazyl barked, "get off each other and listen." We jumped apart and a thought ran through my head. We could've kissed if Hazyl didn't have a nosy persona but oh well. This was how life was,
"Willow and I have decided that our next safe house will be India. We have a few days. By the way, this house is like a packing case: we can take it with us. So hold on and soon we'll be there. Handison is on his way and quickly."
A few days passed. I avoided Toby, talked to Hazyl and Willow, and talked to Tom, and kept an eye out for Lucas: a few times I saw him come out looking scruffy after yelling at Toby in their room. I had a feeling that one of these days they'd get into a major fight.
