As MC said, yes, period blood can be brown. Infact, for the first day of my period, mine is generally brown- no idea why, but it is older blood. If you cut yourself and bleed on something, after a while you'll notice it will turn brown as it gets older (don't do that though oml -_-). But don't worry, it is totally normal!! Is this your first day with your period?? 'Cause it might get redder in a day or two. Also, it might be like that for a few months if this is your very first- that's what happened with me.
