Riddle

Question

A man has a cross a river and he has three things he has to bring over. (There is no other way to cross the river).

He to bring a chicken, flour, and fox over.

If the chicken eats the flour and the fox eats the chicken. In what order does he have to bring the items so that none of them is eaten by the time all of them is taken to the other side? Keep in mind that the items can be eaten on either side.

Wouldn't the flour be eaten by the chicken?

Take the chicken over first. Go back and bring the grain next, but instead of leaving the chicken with the grain, come back with the chicken. Leave the chicken on the first side and take the fox with you. Leave it on the other side with the grain. Finally, go back over and get the chicken and bring it over.
