Maybe Anti-Anxiety

I got off a zoom call with my therapist. She said I might need to try medication for my anxiety (she also said I might have depression). My mom is going to set up a zoom meeting with the perscriber peoples to see if I need it. I might not leave with a prescription, but it’s a start. Sometimes talk therapy just isn’t enough. The side affects aren’t bad, just a dry throat the first week, and it comes in really tiny doses. I’m not old enough to take large pills, but the pills I might get will be tiny tiny tiny.

I’m actually a bit nervous to see what comes out of it, since there are more side affects that MOST people don’t get, but what if I’m not most people?

I take lots of medication. Without it, i am unstable. I have severe anxiety. Be careful with your dosing!! They perscribed me too much and the side effects were hallucinations, shaking, etc.

So you are having a bit or anxiety at getting anxiety meds. I don't know how well medications like that work, the only disorder medication I have ever taken is ADHD meds. If you have any majorly bad side effects or reactions you would probably just end up ceasing taking that medication and switch to another. You should be fine.

Hey luna! I have depression and anxiety myself and i take meds too. your therapist is right. side affects are really rare and the person perscribing the medicine won't give you anything dangerous. I had the exact same worry and i soon figured out that side effects were very rare. If you do have side effects, tell your parent (s) and tell your doctor. just remember that YOU GOT THIS!!! you rock!
